Real Estate

A real estate practice defined by depth of experience, with a particular focus on protecting Churches and Religious Corporations.

How we help

We handle residential and commercial transactions across Long Island and greater New York. Our specialty — and one of our fastest-growing practices — is representing Churches and Religious Corporations who are selling or developing their land in partnership with major New York developers.

If your Church is being approached by developers, we protect you from predatory offers, guide you through Attorney General approvals, and — when necessary — litigate through the Appellate Division.

Frequent Questions

Why does a Church need a specialized attorney to sell or develop land?
Religious Corporations in New York must obtain approval from the Attorney General or the Court before disposing of real property. The paperwork, timing, and negotiation posture are unlike ordinary commercial deals.
What is a predatory developer offer?
An offer that materially undervalues the property, restricts the Church's continuing ministry, or shifts environmental or litigation risk onto the congregation. We identify these terms before they become binding.
